The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Saad Abubakar has declared Wednesday 10th April 2024 as the first day of Shawwal 1445AH.
In a statement signed by chairman Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs Sultanate Council Sokoto, Professor Sambo Wali Junaidu says the Sultanate together with the National Moon Sighting Committee across the country did not receive any report confirming the sighting of the new crescent Shawwal today Monday, the 8th of April 2024 equivalent to Islamic calendar 29th Day of Ramadan.
The statement added that Tuesday, the 9th of April 2024 is the thirtieth of Ramadan and Wednesday shall be the Eid-fitr sallah day.
