Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State has called on political leaders in the country to prioritize patriotism over partisan politicking for the socio-security and economic development of the country.

Tambuwal, who was also the former governor of Sokoto state made the remark, while flagging off distribution of thirty thousand bags of grains as Ramadan assistance to thousands of people in the state.

Tambuwal, who advised that all hands must be on deck towards achieving long-lasting peace and security in the country, stressed that leaders must embrace the realities and rally support for Nigeria’s greatness.

He regretted that Nigeria was being burdened with problems ranging from economic instability and banditry to poverty, which threatened the unity and prosperity of the country, however, argued that Nigerian challenges were still surmountable.

The former Governor appealed to both Christians and Muslims to exhibit the spirit of tolerance, sacrifice, prayer and forgiveness.

Speaking earlier, the State PDP Chairman, Bello Aliyu Goronyo, said the gesture was aimed at relieving households of the current hardship through the party’s spirit of empathy and kindness.
