The Kebbi State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has assured its unalloyed support to the state government for the overall development of the state.
The Acting Chairman of the union, Comrade Garba Muhammad Yeldu, gave the assurance when he led members of State Council on a courtesy call to the State Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar.
Comrade Garba Yeldu, said the aimed of the visit was to strengthen the relationship between the kebbi state government and working journalists in the state.
He said, the council was set to take disciplinary action against any erring journalist who misbehave unethically or publicize unconfirmed story that brings tension to the society.
Responding, the State Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar, lauded the cordial relationship between the state government and working journalists, while assuring NUJ of the government’s support when the need arises.
