Some retirees of Kaduna State College of Education -Gidan Waya have appealed to Governor Uba Sani to pay their retirement benefits to reduce their hardship.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Retirees forum, Mr Bulus Kajang and Mr Emmanuel Nkom to newsmen in Kaduna.

It says the nonpayment of their accrued retirement benefits for over seven years has rendered them ineffective in terms feeding and meeting up with other domestic responsibilities of their families.

“We have explored many possibilities besides making frantic efforts to see that our plight is addressed by the former Governor Mallam Nasir Ahmed El-Rufa’i’s administration but to no avail”

“this ugly situation spanned for over seven years and has turned us to beggars in spite of our stretched 35 years of meritorious service to the Kaduna State Government”, it explains.

The statement attributes the delay in payment of their benefits to the Pension Administrators while urging them to fulfill their obligation by paying their gratuities as well as placing them on their payroll.

Mr Bulus Kajang and Emmanuel Nkom congratulated the Governor over his victory at the polls and wish him a successful tenure, while expressing the hope that he will intervene and save them from the situation.
