From Mansur Paki (Kaduna)

Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has flagged off distribution of about four hundred metric tons of guinea corn to internally displaced persons in Kaduna state.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Sabo Nanono who performed the ceremony, confirmed that federal government is committed to alleviating poverty in Nigeria.

Muhammad Sabo Nanono who was represented by Kaduna State Coordinator of the Ministry, Dr Timka Voutau said apart from fighting insecurity, the federal government was also concerned about the welfare of people in internally displaced persons camps.

In a remark, Executive Secretary of the State Management Agency, Abubakar Hassan said arragement had being concluded to distribute the items to target beneficiaries.

Also speaking, Chairman of Igabi Local Government Area, Jabir Hamisu expressed appreciation to federal government for the gesture, stressing that it would go along way to alleviate the sufferings of the beneficiaries.

Some of the beneficiaries also bared their minds on the gesture.

Radio Nigeria gathered that Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency had commenced the process of distributing the items to IDPS immediately.
