Science -Climatologist from College of Health Science and Technology, Kaduna and Director African Climate Reporters Mr. Nurudeen Bello has warned citizens to stop the indiscriminate littering of the environment with solid waste to avert flood disasters and the spread of water borne diseases in communities.

The attitude of throwing and dumping all sort of trash and garbages into the gutter have contributed immensely towards flood disasters and spread of dangerous infections diseases due to environmental pollution.

Mr. Nurudeen Bello stated this during an interactive session with stakeholders on the need to prevent floods and other ecological challenges affecting local communities in kaduna and Nigeria at large.

He said, all hands must be on deck to halt flood disasters and other ecological challenges affecting human beings, animals and other living organism in the environment.

The Environmental expert called on citizens to always keep their environment Clean and ensure thrash and garbages were adequately evacuated to save their homes against flood and other ecological disasters on the environment.

Mr. Nurudden stressed that gutters were not meant for solid waste, as dumping of it gives room for flooding which contribute towards killings of aquatic animals and other plant species and also makes them go extinct.

The Director African Climate Reporters called on State Emergency Management Agencies SEMA, and National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA including Red Cross Societies and other humanitarian NGOs to double effort towards educating the general public on the dangers associated with dumping of refused and other hazardous chemical waste into gutters.

On his part, an environmental reporter with radio Germany, Mr. Ibrahima Yakubu encouraged climate reporters to intensify awareness via their reportage to curb the menace of flood and other environmental challenges for sustainable growth and development of the Country.
