Nigerian Army has re-iterated its commitment towards rendering selfless services to its host communities.

General Officer Commanding One Division Kaduna, Major General Bamidele Alli Alabi gave the assurance at a medical outreach programme in commemoration of this year’s Nigerian Army Day Celebration-NADCEL, held at LEA Kawo, Kaduna State.

Represented by Brigadier General Goodluck Ugeleka, the GOC explained that the division decided to conduct this year’s NADCEL medical outreach in Kawo as part of its corporate social responsibilities in commemoration of the celebration.

He pointed out that the medical outreach was part of civil-military activities aimed at strengthening the relationship between the division and host community.

Major General Bamidele Alabi noted that the programme would afford beneficiaries, the opportunity to have appropriate health education, counselling and treatment of some illnesses.

Major General Alabi solicited for the support and co-operation of Kawo community with information on all manner of criminal activities being perpetuated in their community.

In his remarks, the Danmakwayon Zazzau, district head of Kawo, Alhaji Jibril Muhammadu Sani expressed gratitude to the Army for its commitment and selfless service towards improving the living standard of Kawo residents.

He noted that the gesture would go a long way towards putting smiles and instilling hope on the people.

Highpoint of the event were distribution of exercise books to secondary school students as well as health talk on the dangers of drug abuse by psychologist Aisha Kasim.

Some of the services rendered included medical consultations, dental care services, eye care services, distribution of eye glasses and mosquito nets to pregnant women, HIV testing and counselling among others.

The climax of this year’s NADCEL is expected to witness a military parade to hold in Ibadan, Oyo State.
