Front view of the palace

A gang of about five armed robbers have invaded the palace of Emir of Minna in Niger state, Alhaji Umar Faruk Bahago and whisked away with large amount of money belonging to the palace.

The armed robbers were said to have trailed the Minna palace cashier with a Toyota Camry from a commercial bank in Minna where he went to withdraw some amount of money meant for day to day running of the palace.

He was blocked at the palace gate when they fired some gunshots in the air to scare people  and forcefully took the large sum of money from him and escaped.

The Minna palace cashier is undergoing interrogation at Police Area Command Office Minna with a view to ascertain details of the incident.

Investigation however conducted by Radio Nigeria in Minna revealed that two of the palace guards that were wounded by the gunshots are now receiving treatment at hospital in Minna.

When contacted on telephone, Police Public Relations Officer Niger State Police Command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun said they have begun investigation to get the root of the matter.
