Troops of Joint Task Force, Northwest of the Operation Hadarin Daji, OPHD, have killed several bandits, destroyed their camps and recovered sophisticated weapons and other items during a clearance operation.

A source close to the military said, the operation was conducted in Kamarawa, Kagara, Dan-gwandi, Zango, Kamarawa, Tseika, Bafarawa, Mallamawa, Makwa Ruwa and other villages in the area in Shinkafi and Isah local government areas of Zamfara and Sokoto States.

During the operation, the troops destroyed many bandits camps, killed 11 bandits, recorvered 19 motorcycles, 1 RPG7 gun, 1 PKT Magazine, 3 AK-47 rifles and 1 smoke gun.

Other items recorvered were 47 rounds of PKT Machine gun, 62 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition,9 smoke canister among others.

Similarly, the troops have successfully denied bandits freedom of movement and action along Maradun – Jihinya Maradun local government area of Zamfara State.

Radio Nigeria gathered that since assumption of duty, the new General officer commanding 8 Division Sokoto Major General Mutkut and the recent redeployment of Commander 1 brigade/Joint Task Force Northwest of Operation Hadarin Daji Brigadier general S Ahmed troops have intensify onslaught against the marauding bandits and records huge successes.
