Zamfara Police Dislodge Bandits’ Camp, Rescues 14

Police tactical operatives in Zamfara state have dislodged bandits camp and rescued fourteen kidnapped victims after 68 days in captivity.

This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Mohammed Shehu in a press release signed and made available to Radio Nigeria in Gusau, saying the rescued victims included aged persons, women and babies.

“On 10th March 2023, Police Tactical Operatives in Conjunction with the vigilante while on Mop Up Operation at near Munhaye forest successfully dislodged some bandits camp belonging to one recalcitrant bandit Kingpin AKA Dogo Sule. As a result of the operation, fourteen ( 14) Hostages consisting of two (2) Male adults, Seven (7) Female and Five (5) Children below the age of 2 years were rescued”. PPRO revealed.

According to him, in the course of debriefing, the victims informed the Police detectives that, on 1st January, 2023 at about 11pm, large number of suspected bandits armed with sophisticated weapons stormed Anguwar Mangoro and Gidan Maidawa villages in Gusau Local government area and abducted them to their camp where they spent 68 days in captivity.

The victims who were in sympathetic condition were medically checked at the Police clinic Gusau and thereafter reunited with their Relatives.

SP Shehu said the Commissioner of Police CP Kolo Yusuf congratulated the victims for regaining freedom and reassured continuous commitment to protect lives and property of the citizens.
