The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC says that all voters must have a permanent Voters Card and also go through the process of accreditation and verification using the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS on Election days.

INEC National Commissioner and Chairman Information and Voter Education Committee Mr Festus Okoye stated this in Abuja while taking over Information Technology Facilities donated by Community Life Project an NGO in support of INEC Citizen Contact Centre, ICCC.

Mr Okoye said individuals without permanent Voters Card should not go to the polling unit as they would not be allowed to vote using any other means of identification.

He noted that INEC would also upload the polling unit level results in good time.

He appealed to the Citizens, Observers, the Media not to announce election results as it was only INEC that had the constitutional rights to do so.

The Programme Manager, Community Life Project, Mr Francis Onahor said his organisation donated the IT facilities because it would offer citizens and the public the opportunity to get responses to their queries about any aspect of the electoral  processes on time.

INEC service provider Mr Emeka  Okafor said the facilities would give voice to the voiceless as any Voter who calls from any part of the country would be quickly attended to.

Items donated included Desktop Computers, laptops and UPS.
