Jigawa state Pilgrims Welfare Board has concluded arrangements to deposit  over one point eight billion naira to  National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON as payment of the 50 percent Hajj seat allocated to the state.

The Director operations of the board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo stated this while briefing newsmen on the preparation for 2023 Hajj exercise.

According to him, NAHCON has allocated one thousand five hundred and twenty five Hajj seats to Jigawa state, noting that the board had already released 80 percent of the allocation to the 27 local government areas of the state.

Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo pointed out that the collection of two point five million naira hajj deposit from prospective pilgrims by zonal officers was in progress across the state.

He said, zonal officers of the board were currently registering prospective pilgrims for the 2023 hajj exercise. 

Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo further explained that, working materials were distributed to the zonal officers to ensure smooth registration of the pilgrims. 

He therefore warned that payment of the deposits should be done by the pilgrims at commercial banks adding that, the board was committed towards a hitch free Hajj exercise this year. 

Ahmed Labbo noted that, the board had secured well befitting accommodations close to the holy mosque in Makkah.

He commended the state government for the support and cooperation given to the state pilgrims board.
