Zamfara State Police Command has paraded eight suspected criminals, 15 locally fabricated AK-47 rifles and 146 rounds of AK-47 live ammunition in the state recorvered from the terrorists.

This was revealed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Shehu Mohammed at a press briefing in Gusau.

SP Shehu said, tactical Operatives of the command acting on intelligence report have recovered an abandoned sack of 10 locally fabricated AK-47 rifles, 3 fabricated revolver pistols along Munhaye forest while attempting to arrest some gunrunners.

Shehu noted that, the police also arrested two bandits’ informants in possession of dried leafs suspected to be indian helm at Bela village of Bungudu local government area.

He said the suspects were part of criminal syndicate that gave information to bandits that are terrorising Bungudu, Kaura Namoda and Birnin Magaji local government areas.

The PPRO noted that another notorious criminal from Gubuchi local government of Kaduna State who specializes on cattle rustling and kidnapping was arrested by the police operatives, adding that, a syndicate fraudsters from Kano State who specializes in defrauding bank customers in Kano, Kaduna, Katsina and Zamfara state were arrested and recovered one million Naira from them.

According to the PPRO, Zamfara State Police Command under CP Kolo Yusuf have been working round the close to ensure restoration of normalcy in the state, hence the need for good people of the state to support them with vital information about any criminal.
