The Defence Headquarters has assured Nigerians that the Military will remain apolitical and act professionally during the fourth coming 2023 General Election.

Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor gave the assurance while receiving the President Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Mr. Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau and some delegates at the Defence Headquarters.

General Irabor said the military would work in partnership with the police and other security agencies to ensure safety and a credible election is conducted next year.

The NBA president Mr. Maikyau while commending the Nigerian Military for its Commitment in protecting the nation and paying the supreme sacrifice in the process pledged the Associations commitment to assist the Armed forces in anyway necessary.

Mr. Maikyau used the forum to extol the virtues of the military and called on the society to assist the military in all their efforts towards restoring peace and unity across the country.
