Motorist in Jos and bukuru metropolis have expressed worry over the emergence of long queues at filling stations due to the non availability of petroleum products in the state.

Radio Nigeria went round some filling stations in the state to ascertain the situation.

Checks at some stations visited showed that most are not dispensing the product to motorist’s while in some, long queues were seen.

Residents in the state have lamented and described the situation as pathetic and unfortunate, especially at the end of the year where people need the commodity to travel and be with their loved ones.

The NNPC MEGA station was selling the commodity at the designated government price of one hundred and eighty seven naira per liter but not available at the moment, and in the black market stations it goes at the rate of two hundred and eighty five naira, some three hundred naira to four hundred naira per litre, while some of the stations were under lock and key.

It can be recalled that recently the DSS gave relevant stakeholders in the fuel supply chain forty eight hours to restore normal supply of petroleum products across the country or face the consequences of their actions, the situation in plateau state has not improved since after the ultimatum.

Motorists and commuters have called on the federal and state Government to come to the aid of citizens by making the product available to bring an end to the situation.
