Commander General of Kano State Hisbah Board, Sheikh Harun Muhammad Sani Ibn Sina

Kano state hisbah board says it has arrested 35 women and 9 men for prostitution and drug trafficking at Kwanar Gafan market at Garin Malam local government area of the state.

The commander general of the hisba board, Sheikh Harun Muhammad Sani Ibn Sina made the disclosure while parading the suspects at hisba headquarters Sharada kano.

Sheikh Ibn Sina explained that the suspects were arrested following a tip off from good samaritan’s on illegal activities at the market.

He pointed out that 13 out of the female suspects tested positive to HIV virus.

The commander general said all the men arrested were handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency- NDLEA for drug test as they were found in possession of hard drugs and intoxicants.

Sheikh Ibn Sina said the agency had commenced investigation and will hand over the suspects to relevant authorities for prosecution.

The commander general urged the general public to report any suspected character to relevant authorities as the Kano state hisbah board will not relent in its efforts of sanitizing State against all forms of vices.
