Mrs Christy Uba has assumed office as Acting Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) following the sack of Brigadier-General M.K Fadah.

Uba was appointed to the position of the most senior Director in the scheme.

NYSC Director, Press and Public Relations, Eddy Medwa made the announcement in a statement.

“Following the removal of Brigadier General Muhammad Kaku Fadah as Director General, National Youth Service Corps by President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, Mrs Christy Uba, Director, Information and Communications Technology, the most senior Director in the Scheme has taken over the leadership of the Corps in the capacity of Overseer, pending the appointment of a substantive Director General by Mr President.”

The Concerned Citizens Forum (CCF) few days ago called for strict punishment for the former director-general of the NYSC, to serve as a deterrent to other public office holders.

The group, at a press conference, in Abuja, demanded that Fadah return all his earnings as NYSC DG and salaries from the Nigerian Army from October 2020.
