The Returning officer of Bakura state constituency bye election, Prof. Ibrahim Magawata has the declared the election inconclusive.
Prof. Magawata explained that, after collating the result of the votes casted, the two major contenders, APC and PDP scored 16,464 and 18,645 respectively, hence the difference of 2181.
Prof. Magawata noted that, result of 14 polling units were cancelled due to over voting, beside others that were scored zero due to ballot box snatch, violence, assault on INEC officials and burning of election materials by thugs.
According to him, the cancellation of the 14 Polling Units has affected 11,429 voters which is higher than the margin hence declared the election inconclusive.
Earlier, Registration Area Supervisor of Bakura Ward 001, Prof. A’isha Balarabe Bawa has announced the missing of 2 INEC’s adhoc staff, presiding officers, She also said she was yet to receive result from 2 polling units as she didn’t see any of the adhock staff and election result.
While reacting on the outcome of the election, to Radio Nigeria, PDP Supervisor, Mr. Rabiu Garba said the are ready for the rerun election, while other supervisors of political parties accused APC and PDP for Vote buying up to the tune of N10,000 per vote and alleged that, securities have compromised.
