The Inspector General of Police, Alkali Usman Baba, has presented cheques of over forty six millionaire to families of policemen who died in the line of duty.

Disbursing the cheques to the deceased families at the Police Command headquarters in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Magaji Kontagora said, IGP in his commitment to improving the welfare of officers and men of the force, has introduced several welfare packages among which are the group assurance policy and the IGP family welfare schemes.

Magaji Kontagora, said that, the cheques presented to the families of the deceased police officers, was part of Police group life assurance and the group life personnel accident of the IGP.

According to him, the event is an assurance to the next of kin of the deceased police officers that, the Force will always take care of her own, even in death.

“we cherish and respect the supreme sacrifice those Officers made to the Command in particular and the nation at large, before their demise”.

He reiterated that, the IGP is committed to improving the welfare of the officers, hence the exercise.

While sympathizing with the deceased families, the Commissioner used the medium to advise the families of the deceased police officers to judiciously utilize the token in ameliorating their financial needs.
