Professor Folashade Ogunshola, has emerged as the first-ever female Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos.

Until her appointment, Professor Folashade served in acting capacity as Vice Chancellor following the removal of the then Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Toyin Ogundipe.

She had also served as the Provost of the College of Medicine, Lagos.

Folashade Ogunshola is a professor of Microbiology at the College of Medicine, and will succeed the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Professor Toyin Ogundipe whose tenure elapses next month.
