At least sixty one (61) teacher from sixteen local government areas of Kwara state have been given award of excellence to boost their morale.

Presenting the award in commemoration of the World Teacher Day Celebration in Ilorin, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazq said his administration will continue to give the welfare of teachers the required attention .

He commended the teachers for their contribution towards moulding the future of the next generation with their sweats, expertise, and patience.

AbdulRazq said his administrations huge investments in the education sector are closely tied to teachers and school heads.

He explained that the state government is funding the multi billion naira KwaraLEARN programme which seeks to improve the capacity of teachers and boost learning outcomes for the children.

In his address , the Chairman , Nigeria Union of Teachers NUT, Kwara state Chapter, Comrade Oyewo Bashiru urged the state government to do more in the area of workers welfare.
