Zamfara State Hisbah Commission has intercepted and destroyed alcoholic drinks worth over fifty million naira from January to date.

The Permanent Commissioner in charge of Operations, Malam Usman Buhari Mai Jega disclosed this at hisbah headquarters in Gusau while parading the suspects and seizures made.

He said the operatives stormed the Top Down hotel following an intelligent report and arrested three commercial sex workers and their clients at the hotel rooms adding that over ten cartons of beer were intercepted.

According to him, similar arrests are being made from january to date at various places within the state in which they intercepted and destroyed bear amount to over fifty million naira while the victims have been handed over to the court for necessary action

The Commissioner assured to rid the state of all forms of criminalities and ensure that people were complying with the Sharia legal system of the state.

Malam Usman Buhari Mai Jega also closed down a popular Hotel called Top Town Hotel situated along bypass Igala quarters in Gusau, the State capital.

He added that the directive for the closure was a result of constant complaints by the neighbouring residents of disturbance by the management of the said hotel.

The Commissioner said they have already arrested the manager of the hotel, and three women to be arraigned before the court for aiding and abetting adultery.
