Security chiefs have resolved to be more proactive in dealing with all shades of insecurity in the country in a more decisive manner.

The Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, stated this while briefing State House correspondents on the outcome of the just-concluded National Security Council meeting, convened to brief President Buhari on the country’s security situation.

He said the meeting noted the need to pay greater attention to the police in the discharge of its functions to maintain peace in the country, in the areas of equipment and modern technology.

The Minister thanked President Buhari for
the concern he had shown in repositioning the police to perform more effectively.

Alhaji Dingyadi said President Buhari commended members of the security council for their efforts in maintaining peace, and assured them that he would do all within his powers to support security
agencies in providing peace in the country.

He said the President assured Nigerians that he would not allow the recurrence of the similitude of the EndSARS protest, which has destabilised peace in places it occurred.

He said the Federal Government would continue to maintain its bureaucratic humane and just postures in handling security matters in the country, saying that the meeting had a timeline on ending insecurity, which security agencies are working hard to achieve.
