Over 200,000 refugees and internally  displaced people have returned to their  communities following military clearance operations across the region, according to Multinational Joint  Taskforce MNJTF.

Major General Abdul Khalifa Ibrahim, Force Commander of the Joint Taskforce, stated this during the 2022 MNJTF medal parade at its headquarters in N’Djamena, Chad Republic.

The Multinational Joint Taskforce is  a security coalition comprised of Nigeria,  Niger, Cameroon, Chad, and Benin republic, working together to combat the  threat of terrorism and insurgency.

In 2015, the Force was reorganized to  combat the rising tide of insurgency and  other affiliate groups in the Lake Chad  region.

MNJTF has conducted eight major  operations in seven years.
