Air passenger traffic has risen ahead of the sallah festivities and public holidays declared by the Federal Government.

At the Lagos airport terminals, while passengers are making frantic efforts to buy tickets and secure seats on a flight, airlines and terminal managers are working to ensure the baggage systems are working at optimal level.

Airline operators and airports have made advance preparations to ensure a hitch free sallah festivity.

Acting General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs Faithful Hope-Ivbazesays, said all arrangements for the security and safety of passengers have been made and security agencies are on red alert to forestall any breakdown of law and order.

She explained that, the closure of the domestic airport runway in Lagos for repairs would cause some delays in take-offs and landings and appealed to passengers to bear the management as the repairs was to promote air safety.

General Aviation Terminal I and II are busy with passengers and other activities involving facilitation.

Spokesmen for two of the domestic airlines, Mr Stanley Oliseh and Kingsley Ezemwan said, additional flights have been arranged to avoid passengers stranded at the airports around the country.

They appealed to passengers to book their flights early and be at the airport two hours before their flights to avoid any disappointment.
