
Nigerian Army has assured that it would continue to render selfless services to host communities.
General Officer Commanding One Division Kaduna, Major General Kabir Mukhtar gave the assurance at a free medical outreach programme in commemoration of this year’s Nigerian Army Day Celebration-NADCEL held at Sabon Gayan in Chikun local government area of Kaduna State.
Represented by Brigadier General Adeleke Aiyennuga, the GOC noted that considering the importance of health and health related issues, the division deemed it fit to conduct the programme at Sabon Gayan so as to strengthen civil-military relations.
He pointed out that the objectives of NADCEL was to showcase the Army as an instrument of national unity, integration and development.

He said it was also aimed at demonstrating its capacity to defend the territorial integrity of Nigeria as well as to honour fallen heroes who paid the supreme price in service to fatherland.
Declaring the event open, Special Adviser to Governor Nasir El Rufa’i on security, Brigadier General Umar Ibrahim retired commended the division for organising the exercise and urged residents to take full advantage of the gesture.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, district head of sabon gayan, Alhaji Muhammad Namadi Jibrin expressed appreciation to the Army for the gesture, stressing that it is the first of its kind.
Some of the services rendered to the community included medical consultations, laboratory investigations, dental care, eye care, distribution of eyeglasses, distribution of treated mosquito nets, HIV testing and counselling, free drugs, malaria prevention/awarenesses and treatment among others.
