The Senator representing Nasarawa North in Nassarawa State, Senator Godiya Akwashiki has announced his defection from the ruling All Progressives Congress APC.
Akwashiki made this known in Nassarawa Eggon while inaugurating the construction of a 2km Nassarawa Eggon/ Galle road, in Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area of the state.
“In the next 72 hours, you will see a platform that I will join and we will all move together,” he emphasized.
The senator explained that he was dumping the party due to the alleged doctoring of the delegates’ list by the APC National Secretariat during the recently conducted primary elections of the party.
Godiya Akwashiki said the decision to construct the road was to boost transportation, and agriculture and also improve the standard of living of the people in the area and its environs.
The senator assured the people of the senatorial district of quality representation at all times.
Also speaking, The President of Eggon Cultural and Development Association ECDA Mr. David Abuluya, lauded Akwashiki for his purposeful leadership and urged the people of the Eggon nation to continue to live in unity, peace, and tolerance for development to thrive.
Radio Nigeria reports that the event brought together politicians, traditional rulers, and well-wishers.
