Nigerian Army is to review its rules of engagement and code of conduct for personnel involved in the forthcoming elections to create an enabling environment for a peaceful conduct.

Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Farouk Yahaya gave the directive for the review in Abuja at the opening of the second quarter Chief of Army Staff conference for this year.

The quarterly Chief of Army Staff Conference is an avenue where the top hierarchy of the Army converges and reviews its operations in the previous quarters and deliberates on areas of improvement where necessary.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Farouk Yahaya said this second quarter conference among other areas was poised to review its code of conduct for credible elections across the country.

General Yahaya who used the forum to acknowledged progress in infrastructural development in the barracks and health care development also emphasized that efforts would be fortified to enhance collaboration to curb insecurity across the country.

The Chief of Policy and Plans Army, Major General Anthony Omozojie emphasized that this conference composition was enlarged to accommodate more officers for better results for the Army.

The three day conference will among other things reel out the achievement of Lieutenant General Farouk Yahaya as the Chief of Army Staff in the past one year he assumed office after the death of his predecessor.
