The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC says it has dedicated a nomination centre to receive and process all nominations by political parties.

INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmoud Yakubu stated this in Abuja during a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners, REC, that a dedicated telephone line has also been kept to serve as a help desk for any party that may need assistance.

Prof Yakubu called on political parties to submit only the candidates that emerged from Democratic primaries.

He also explained that the list of all Presidential and Governorship candidates must be accompanied by the names of their running mates without which the nomination would be invalid.

The INEC boss said that all nominations must be uploaded to the portal on or before the deadline as the portal would shut down on its own.

He said that four members each from the eighteen registered political parties had been trained and given an access code to the portal.

He reminded the parties that they have only one week to submit their list of candidates for the 2023 general election.

On the continuous Voter Registration, CVR the INEC Chairman said the commission would respond positively to the needs of the electorate.

He said that additional machines had already been deployed where necessary.
