Over five 5 persons have been killed, many injured and houses razed down in a communal clashes between the Lunguda tribe and Waja in Lafiya, Bishi kiru and Malam Isa villages of Lamurde LGA of Adamawa State.

The Police Public Relations Officer Superintendent Sulaiman Yahaya Ngroje confirmed the incident while speaking to Radio Nigeria in Yola.


Ngroje said, the State Command had received a report on the unfortunate incident from the Divisional police officer of Lamurde that, crisis had erupted between the two tribes which led to the destruction of many houses and lost of lives.


He said, the commissioner of police CP Sikiru Akande had already deployed operational assets to the areas to bring the situation under control.

Sulaiman Ngroje further assured the public and those in transit to continue with their normal activities, as the police were on top of the situation.

An eye witness, Ahmed Electrician said that the crisis started, when some youths from the Lunguda militia attacked two young boys from the Waja community on their farm at Malam Isa village in the area, on sighting the corpses of the slain boys such was what ignited tension among their people on

Radio Nigeria reports that the situation resulted in a seriously awkward situation between the two tribes, leading to the death of many and the burning of houses.


The public has however been urged to remain calm and live peacefully with one another.
