NigeriaAir, the country’s national carrier, received its Air Transport License (ATL) on Monday, four years after it was unveiled by the minister of aviation, Hadi Sirika.

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority handed over the certificate to the airline’s interim management at the NCAA’s headquarters at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

The announcement was made in a tweet by the aviation ministry, saying this signaled the beginning of operations of the airline, adding that the commencement date of domestic flights will be announced.
