A fire outbreak has burnt over twenty animals and eight grain silos to ashes, at Anguwar Gyartai in Bichi local government area.

According to the public relations officer of Kano state fire service, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi,the agency received a call from the chairman of Kunchi Local government area,Alhaji Aminu Shuwaki, that fire has engulfed an animal enclosure and grain silos.

He maintained that, officers from Bichi fire station succeeded in quenching the fire,which had afffected many animals and grain silos worth millions of naira.

The public relations officer explained that,the fire had spread to nearby houses,where three people were suffocated by smoke.

Saminu Yusif pointed out that, four residential rooms were also burnt before the fire was put under control.

He noted that, about 40 domestic animals,two local food storage and 20 rooms from the houses near by were saved.

The public relations officer said,those affected by the inferno are receiving treatment at Shuwaki comprehensive health center, while some animals were slaughtered due to their critical condition.

Saminu said, that one jet commando and several buckets of water were used to quench the fire.

He added that, investigation has commenced the unravel the mystery behind the disaster.
