The Kwara State government has directed the reopening of Oyun Batist High School Ijagbo that was closed over the use of Hijab crisis.

In a statement by the Permanent Secretary of the state Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development ,Mrs Kemi Adeosun said all Muslim school girl desirous of wearing Hijab in government schools should be allowed to do so.

The statement also directed all teachers and students to return to their classrooms from 3rd of June this year .

The statement explained that the state government white paper committee will be allowed to conclude its work to address pending issues relating to the recent disturbance in the school.

The statement noted that the Ministry’s decision to reopen the school is one of the government’s approaches to return normalcy to the school.

The statement urged all stakeholders in the area to ensure peaceful coexistence and respect the law.
