Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara state has emerged the All Progressives Congress-APC Governorship flagbearer in the state.

The party primary which held at Gusau, the zamfara state capital, under very tight security was however conducted peacefully.

Announcing the result, the returning officer sent to Zamfara by the national leadership of the party, Babagana Tijjani Banki said Governor Matawalle return unoppose by scoring 733 votes out of 735 accredited votes.

Tijjani Banki also commended the maturity exhibited by the people of Zamfara in increasing the chances of the party and urged other states to emulate it for continuity, peace and development of democracy, state and the country in general.

In his remark, Governor Matawalle expressed satisfaction and gratitude to Allah over his emergence, recalled that, the efforts of all the party’s stakeholders especially the recent reconciliation of all factional groups which returned as a family have resulted into what had happened.

He thanked all the party leaders in the state especially his predecessor and former governor Yari and Senator Kabiru Marafa for their commitment to the state and the APC and acceptance of the reconciliation initiative and assured them that their efforts and sacrifices will not be in vain.

In his address, the state Deputy Governor Senator Hassan Nasiha, the state APC local organising committee chairman for the election, said Governor Matawalle has unified the party making it more formidable.

He added that he has built the confidence of all party members thereby the party would bring more development that can change the lives of many citizens for better
