Kaduna State government has approved over three billion naira for the payment of gratuity and death benefits to retirees and families of deceased civil servants respectively at State level and in all the 23 Local Government Areas of the State.

A Statement by the Executive Secretary of Kaduna State Pension Bureau, Professor Salamatu Idris Isah said Governor Elrufai approved the sum of Three billion One hundred and Five million Naira for the payments.

Professor Isah explained that, One billion and Five million Naira has been allocated for the payment of Local Government retirees while six hundred million is for the payment of state retirees under the Defined Benefits Scheme.

She said the sum of One billion Five hundred million Naira has also been allocated for the payment of Accrued Rights to retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS).

Prof. Salamatu further stated that, shortlisted names of beneficiaries would be sent to the Pension Desk Officers across the 23 Local Government Areas as well as Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

The Executive Secretary maintained that the names would be made available on the social media handles of the Pension Bureau for wider dissemination.

She recalled that Kaduna State Government had paid gratuity/death benefits of batches one to sixteen of beneficiaries at the state level and batches one to fourteen of local government pensioners under the Defined Benefits Scheme.

Prof. Isah further said that the Pension Bureau would commence screening for payment of both batch 15 of Local Government benefits and batch 17 of State retirees, once all necessary arrangements have been put in place.

According to her, the screening will be done at the various headquarters of the three senatorial zones of the state.
