Speaker Zamfara State House of Assembly Alhaji Nasiru Maazu
Magarya has called on illegible voters in the state to ensure that they obtain their voter cards.

Nasiru Magarya made the call in Gusau, shortly after being screened by the Special Screening Committee deployed to Zamfara by the APC National Secretariat.

Alhaji Nasiru Magarya said the voter’s card was the only weapon for the electorate to elect credible leaders of their choice to give their quota toward the development of the state, democracy and the country in general.

He also called on youth to avoid escalating political thuggery ,hooliganism as well as carrying dangerous weapons during and after campaign rallies .

Nasiru Magarya also explained that the recent reconciliation between the APC led Yari’s faction and that of Matawalle was a great development for the party, democracy as well as a testing ground for peace and stability of the state.

Earlier, the Chairman of the State House of Assembly, Special Screening Committee deployed to Zamfara by the APC National Secretariat Alhaji Babagana Tijjani Banji said they have completed their assignment in the state.

Radio Nigeria reports that the 7-member committee has screened a total of 28 aspirants vying for the state’s legislative seat in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

The chairman of the committee also commended the conduct and maturity exhibited by the aspirants during the exercise adding that the committee gave equal opportunity to all aspirants to appear and be screened and that a report would be submitted to the APC National Secretariat in Abuja

He said the APC would remain committed to justice, fair play and work in decorum to enhance the full participation of members and exemplary internal democracy.

The 7-member committee are Alhaji Wakil Aliyu, Abubakar Yarima, Faruk Ibrahim Tsiga, Abdullahi Musa and Adamu Ibrahim while Fatima Ibrahim is the secretary.
