Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Ayuba Elkana has met with Islamic and Christian leaders at his office to promote peace and stability in the state.

During the meeting, the Commissioner of Police commended the Religious Leaders for their efforts in preaching the importance of peace and stability among the people, especially those of different faiths.

The CP further urged parents and guidance to pay close monitoring to their wards and their interactions, especially on social media.

He said the police force was committed to providing effective protection to the lives and property of the people and therefore the public should refrain from taking the law into their own hands and report any complaints to security agents.

Addressing the gathering, Muslim and Christian religious leaders, Liman Ahmad Aliyu, a member of the Ulama Consultative Council and Amadu Haruna, Secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria-CAN, commended the Commissioner of Police for his strategic role in providing security in the state.

They promised to strive to do everything possible to ensure lasting peace and stability across the state.
