Borno state Government has raised the monthly salary of casual workers from ten to thirty thousand naira.

“As the Ramadan fast commences; each of you is to get a bag of rice and 10kg of sugar,” he said.

Governor Zulum however charged them to pray for the restoration of peace in the state and the country.

The Governor prayed that insurgency does not reoccur in the northeast and parts of northern Nigeria.

He explained that each worker would be provided with two kilogrammes of meat and five litres of cooking oil.

Other food and non-food items distributed for the Ramadan to each worker comprised of five yards each of cloth and wrappers.

The 285 casual workers are drawn from the Government House Maiduguri, Borno State Environment Protection Agency (BOSEPA) and Confer Cleaning and Hygiene services.
