Over fifty percent of youth and women have benefited from Governor Bala Muhammad’s Empowerment tagged Kaura Economic Empowerment Programme (KEEP).
Governor Bala Muhammad disclosed this at the Flagg off and distribution of starter packs to some selected beneficiaries mostly youth and women at Shira and Giade Local Government Areas of the state.
Bala Muhammad said the programme was designed to boost Economic activities, alliviate poverty, create employment among people especially youth and women to become self reliant.
According to him seventy five million naira has been earmarked for the purchase of the items for disbursement to the beneficiaries in each of the local government areas of the state.
On education and health sectors, the governor said the state government has declared state of emergency where schools and health facilities as well as provision of equipment for conducive and effective service delivery.
Also speaking, wife of the state governor, Hajiya Aisha Bala Muhammad appreciated the governor for the gesture and urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the items to improve their economic status.
The Chairman of Giade Local Government, Alhaji Usman Sale also commended Governor Bala Muhammad for infrastructural development in his quest to transform the state.
Items distributed in the two
local government areas include grinding and sewing machines, motor cycles, goats among others.
