Federal Government says it recognises the right of the Nigerian youth to protest but should do that with decorum.

The Minister of Youth and Sport development, Sunday Dare made this known to journalists at the State House after a closed door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.

Sunday Dare explained that he briefed the president about the ongoing protest in some part of the country by the younger generation.

He said he also highlighted some of the demand, expectation and desire for reforms by the youth.

The minister who thanked President Buhari for being responsive to the demands of the ENDSARS protesters stated that the government was working hard to make sure that other demands such as deep-seated reforms and investigations were conducted to bring to justice all those who were responsible for extra judicial killings ,extortions, and human right violations.

Sunday Dare emphasize that the youth of Nigeria are law abiding and they believe in the unity of the country all they need is support to achieve their dreams.

The minister revealed that President Buhari believed in Nigerian youth.

The Youth and Sport Minister advised the protesters to be guided and not to allow miscreants to take advantage of the protest to threaten the security of the nation.

Sunday Dare called on the youth to exercise patience as some of the demands made by them would take time to materialise because there are processes that would be made, such as administrative responses, legislation and executive orders.
