The Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and the 2nd Niger Bridge are to be completed this year.

Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola gave this indication in Abuja while addressing State House correspondents on the level of work so far.

The Minister however said the completion of the two projects would be subject to the government’s ability to navigate inflation.

Mr Fashola said the main carriageway on Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Expressway would be completed next year, before President Buhari leaves office.

He explained that ancillary works like the service lanes, truck parks, and toll plazas would be completed afterwards, assuring that their funding had been properly structured to outlive the current administration.

The Minister added that the 3 major projects could have been delivered earlier than expected, but that the challenges being faced had made it difficult for work on them to be done smoothly.
