The Executive Secretary, Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu Musa

Jigawa State Government says it has paid over thirty nine point nine billion naira as terminal benefits from May 2015 to March 2022. 

The Executive Secretary of the state and local government contributory pension scheme, Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu Musa disclosed this in an interview with newsmen.

According to him, the terminal benefits paid include gratuity, death benefit, refund of eight percent contribution and death pension balance.

He said out of the amount, ten billion, three hundred and sixty five million was paid as gratuity during the period under review.

Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu Musa pointed out that, three point four billion naira was also paid as death benefits.

He said four hundred and forty seven million naira was paid as death pension balance and 18 million naira was paid as refund of eight percent contribution.

Kamilu Aliyu Musa noted that, twenty five point six billion naira was paid as monthly pension of state, local government and local education authority pensioners during the period under review.

The Pension Boss therefore commended Governor Badaru Abubakar for the support and cooperation given to the scheme at all times.

He also commended the Chairmen of local government councils and the pensioners association for the cooperation given to the officials of the board at the ongoing pensioners verification exercise in the state.
