Forum of the former chairmen of the People’s Democratic party PDP in jigawa state has endorsed the son of Ex -Governor Sule Lamido as the best candidate for the gubernatorial election ticket come 2023 general election.
The forum disclosed this in a communique issued to newsmen after a meeting in Gumel local government area.
The communique, read by the Secretary of the forum and former chairman Yankwashi local government, Musa Abdullahi Karkarna says 22 out of the 27 local government chairmen who served under the PDP unanimously endorsed the resolution.
He explained that the decision was taken after the forum received several requests from the members of the party for the need to file a strong candidate towards victory of the party.
According to him, the candidate Mustapha Sule Lamido being endorsed is capable of handling the job, looking at how he has been working to ensure unity and progress of the party.
“So we are calling him to come out and contest for the gubernatorial ticket of our great party PDP “the Forum said.
Karkarna noted that their endorsement did not block any interesting member of the party to indicate his interest.
The communique however assures to work for any person who emerged as the party’s gubernatorial candidate to ensure victory of the party.
