Twenty eight additional miscreants have been arrested by the Niger state police command over alleged involvement in youth restiveness, thuggery and being in possession of dangerous weapons.
Police Public Relations Officer Niger state Command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun stated this in a statement issued to newsmen in Minna.
DSP Wasiu Abiodun explained that this brings to sixty the number of youths arrested in connection with public disturbances in Minna metropolis.
According to him, the onslaught against youth restiveness, thuggery and other acts of criminality in Minna metropolis by joint security operatives of Police, Army, DSS, NSCDC and Vigilante would continue until the problem is brought to an end.
Items recovered from the suspects include ten arrows, eight knives, nine sticks, five shisha pipes, one axe, seventeen sachets and four nylon of indian hemp among others.
DSP Wasiu Abiodun added that the suspects are under investigation and would be charged to court soon.
