Results of candidates that sat the 2021 West African Senior School Certificate Examination for School Candidates has been released.

The Head, Nigeria National Office of the West African Examinations Council, WAEC, Mr. Parick Areghan announced the release of the result at a news briefing in Lagos.

He announced that a total of One Million Three Hundred and Ninety-Eight Thousand, Three Hundred and Seventy candidates representing Eighty-nine point six two percent of the total number of candidates that sat the examination passed with five credits including English Language and Mathematics.

He explained that the performance of candidates in this year’s examination was an improvement on that of last year whereby candidates that passed with five credits including English language and Mathematics was Sixty-five point two four percent.

Mr. Areghan also noted that the results of One Hundred and Seventy Thousand, One Hundred and Forty-Six candidates representing ten point nine percent of the total number of candidates that sat the examination had been withheld for their involvement in various examination malpractices.

The WAEC boss thanked the federal government and states government for supporting WAEC in the smooth conduct of its examination.
