Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara state has called on stakeholders in the state to join hands with his administration in harnessing the vast natural mineral resources across the state.

Matawalle made the call while swearing-in two additional commissioners, ten Special Advisers, eight new Permanent Secretaries and the new Auditor-General of the state.

The Governor called on the Sworn in officials to contribute their quota in ensuring peace and tranquility reigned in the State

As usual the officials were subjected to swearing with the Holy Qur’an dissociating themselves from bandits and they activities in the state

He advocated the need for stakeholders to join hands with his government to ensure the vast mineral resources available in the state were harnessed for growth and development rather than allowing them left untapped.

According to him, his administration is doing its best to put an end to banditry and other forms of criminalities in order to create a veritably conducive environment for investors which will in turn generate more employment opportunities for the teeming youth.

The Governor noted with gratitude that the recent mobile communication shut down aimed at giving security personnel the leading way in fighting bandits was yielding results.

He said, a total of 544 abductees were rescued including two students from FGC Yawuri, Kebbi state, 18 students from College of Agriculture and Animal Science Bakura and 75 students from Government Day Secondary School, Kaya.

Matawalle also disclosed that, series of arrests of suspected bandits and their collaborators were made across the 14 local government councils as well as the interception of a large cache of alcoholic drinks and hard drugs meant for the bandits.
