The Federal Executive Council, FEC, has approved a draft bill for the establishment of a Federal University of Health Sciences to be cited in Otukpo, Benue State.

FEC also approved a bill for the repeal of the Immigration and Prison Services Board Act, 2004.

Equally approval was bill for the enactment of the Civil Defence, Corrections, Fire, Immigration Services Board.

Similarly, FEC has given approval to the FCT to award contract of about 300 million Naira for the procurement of a light duty towing truck, including a 10 ton crane attachment for its Directorate of Road Traffic Services.

The truck, according to the Minister, Alhaji Muhammad Bello, is meant to complement and add to the fleet of vehicles of the directory to enhance its activities.

Approval was equally granted to the Ministry of Transportation to appoint a consultant to undertake the supervision of the construction of the Bodo-Bonny Road and bridge, which was previously awarded by Council.

The Minister, Mr. Babatunde Fashola explained that the supervision consultancy was awarded at about 900 million Naira.

The Ministry also got approval to award contract of over 26 billion Naira for the rehabilitation of the 84 kilometre Idah-Nsukka Road, linking Kogi and Enugu states.
