President Muhammadu Buhari has approved an additional N8.9bn as COVID-19 hazard allowance to medical health workers.

The Chairman, Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha stated this during a briefing in Abuja on Thursday.

Mr Mustapha said procurement of personal protective equipment (PPE’S) for hospitals and isolation centers would be given priority.

He said these would address protests and strike action of aggrieved health workers in the past few weeks.

Mr Boss Mustapha explained that the Task Force had briefed National Food Security Council on the Impact of COVID-19 on Agriculture and food value chain, in which the Council assured strategy for mitigating the impact. RN
