People’s Democratic Party(PDP), in Zamfara State , has decried over what it described as depriving the party to locate its state secretariat in Gusau the state capital.

The Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, Alhaji Umar Faruk Shatiman Rijiya announced this while speaking to newsmen in Gusau.

He lamented how Zamfara State Urban and Regional Development Planning (ZUREP) cancelled three times any office the party rented in the name of opening their Headquarters in Gusau.

“This is the third time ZUREP is cancelling our rented office, which is contrary to the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended”. He added

Shetiman Rijiya further explained that, the party (PDP) had followed due process in securing a party office in the state capital as their Headquarters which had been revoked by ZUREP.

The Publicity Secretary noted that, each party had its headquarters in the state capital but wondered why peoples Democratic party should not have that constitutional rights to establish its own.

Radio Nigeria Correspondent in Gusau reports that, the new headquarters of the party in Samaru was scattered and painted by the ZUREP.
