Gunmen numbering about sixty have allegedly stormed Rafi local government council of Niger state and invaded the palace of Emir of Kagara.

The armed men who stormed the palace around six o’clock in the evening this Tuesday on twenty motorcycles carrying three persons on each motorcycle shooting sporadically to scare Kagara people.

Most traders selling goods and services being their market day have abandoned their goods running helter skelter.

Investigation conducted revealed that many houses in Kagara are now under lock and key with many household resorting to offering prayers for Allah’s intervention while others have fled to the bush for safety to avoid either being kidnapped or killed by the gunmen.

They came through Attahiru primary school towards Madaka road leading to the bush where they abducted the students of Kagara some months back.

Emir of Kagara Alh Ahmed Garba Gunna Attahiru the second has been away for almost two weeks now but what worsened the situation is lack of network service in Kagara.

All efforts to contact the Chairman of Rafi local government council Alh Ismaila Danmodibo for comment on the attack proved abortive despite repeated calls.

Similarly, efforts to contact the Police authority in Niger state was unsuccessful.
